UK Growth

Neptune UK Equity

The fund combines Neptune’s macro global view with fund manager Jeremy Smith’s stock selection.  Neptune believes that the UK economy needs to be viewed in the context of a wider global backdrop.  As a result, this fund provides the potential to play some global growth themes, whilst still investing in UK listed companies.

Jupiter UK Growth

This fund emphasises having a flexible investment approach.  Fund manager, Ian McVeigh, has no bias to his investment style to growth or value stocks; instead he simply aims to identify where an opportunity exists to make attractive returns.  The fund is likely to be one of the more aggressive mainstream UK equity funds – a product of the managers conviction backed investment philosophy.

Liontrust First Growth

Fund manager, Jeremy Lang, likes to take a contrarian approach compared with other fund managers.  The First Growth fund looks to exploit conservative or overly pessimistic stock valuations and growth forecasts, as Lang believes analysts rely too much on extrapolating past events into the future.  There are no sector constraints on the fund, meaning that the fund can invest where the manager believes the best opportunities arise.

BlackRock UK Absolute Alpha

This fund looks to achieve an absolute return, whatever the market conditions.  It aims to achieve its return objective through the use of hedge-fund like strategies that the manager believes will offer low correlation to equity markets.  Underpinning the absolute return strategy, however, is fund manager Mark Lyttleton’s fundamental analysis of the companies and industries he invest in.  Lyttleton is a believer that the management of a company is an indicator as to the firms overall quality.
